Our Process Of Kentucky Bourbon

OUR PROCESS

Age-Old Traditions

Our distillery team brings age-old traditions for milling, cooking, and mashing in addition to innovation and creativity. Our cooking and mashing systems are designed to accommodate both traditional and custom mash bills and distilling.

Local Grains & Relationships

Natural ingredients are key to Jackson Purchase Distillery’s fine bourbon.

Western Kentucky’s vast areas of arable land is a distiller’s dream. The surrounding farmlands lie on some of the richest soils of sand, silt, and clay fed from the surrounding river bottomlands. Jackson Purchase Distillery has direct relationships with local farmers to source the region's highest quality corn and wheat for use in the production of our Kentucky bourbon.

It All Starts With The Water

Deep beneath the rich black soil of the river bottom land and the fertile rolling hills in Western Kentucky lay’s an abundant supply of fresh, sweet calcium-rich water. Jackson Purchase Distillery draws from this source with its own on-site calcium-rich well.

Aging & Warehousing

It is thought that Kentucky bourbon gets up to 70% of its sweet flavor notes from the wood in the new charred white oak barrels. The hot and humid Western Kentucky days of Summer draw the whiskey into the wood grain of the barrels it where it picks up the deep rich flavors. Jackson Purchase Distillery & Warehouse sit in the warmest region in all of Kentucky, giving our Kentucky bourbon a distinct advantage.

Our warehouse’s central location in the USA, puts our delivery time within a day or less to 2/3’s of the country.
